Airport /Negombo/ Pinnawala /Dambulla
On arrival we pick up clients from the Airport and proceed to Negombo and visit the Negombo Fish Market.
Negombo is the heart of Sri Lanka’s fishing industry. The sea and catamarans are the backdrop of the Negombo scenery. Visit the Negombo lagoon and a fish auction.
Transfer from Negombo to Pinnawala and visit the Elephant Orphanage.
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grand children born in the same location. The original objective of establishing the orphanage inclined more towards tourism, but is soon became a conservational and educational centre. With the help of local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawala started a scientific captive-breeding programme for elephants. The free movement of the herd enhanced the chances for respective individuals of both sexes to get together and sex. The nearby river played a dominant role in this regard, and in 1984, the first baby of Pinnawala was born.
The success story of Pinnawala has drawn the attention of scientists from all over the world. A considerable number of books and research articles on Pinnawala have been published in several languages. The members of Pinnawala herd have been filmed, videoed and photographed thousands of times by professionals.
Thereafter we proceed to Dambulla. Rest of the day you can enjoy your leisure time.

DAY 02
DAMBULLA/SIGIRIYA / ELEPHANT BACK RIDE ( 01 HR ) HABARANA/DAMBULLA
DAMBULLA / SAFARI AT MINNERIYA OR KAUDULLA NATIONAL PARK /DAMBULLA
Breakfast at Amaya Lake.
Transfer from Dambulla to Sigiriya, and visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress which is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The ‘Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster.
Thereafter we proceed to Habarana and carryout an Elephant Back Ride appx 01 hr. On completion return to hotel, for a short rest.
In the afternoon we proceed you to Minneriya / Kaudulla and carryout safaris of Minneriya / Kaudulla National Park by jeep.
The extent of the Minneriya National Park is about 8,889 hectares. There are wet-lands in this National Park, which have international importance, animal and plant species, which are plenty in dry zone are found in this park. Wild elephants, various amphibians, local and immigrant bird species are plenty in this park. About 160 species of birds, 09 amphibians, 25 reptile species, 26 fish species and more than 78 butterfly species have been found in this area. There are bamboo trees which are rare in other parks and wild elephants can be seen conveniently. The significant feature is that these elephants can be seen going closer to them.
On completion we arrange to return to the hotel. You can have your dinner from Amaya Lake hotel spend your night there.
DAY 03
DAMBULLA/ SPICE GARDEN IN MATALE / TREK IN THE AREA / KANDY & CITY TOUR
Breakfast at Amaya Lake.
Transfer from Dambulla to Matale and visit a spice garden.
Visit a spice garden in Matale to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous for. Here, clients could see different spices and how some of these spices are grown and processed.
Thereafter carryout a trek in the area, trekking by the village area, through, rubber plantations, up & down a small hill, by a paddy field and getting across a suspension bridge and a water-ways bare-foot ! (appx 2 – 2 ½ hrs )
On completion of the trek proceed to Kandy. In the late afternoon carry out city tour of Kandy.
Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site. The name “Kandy” conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. Thereafter witness a cultural show. DAY 04
BIRD WATCHING TREK IN THE HOTEL PREMISES
Breakfast at Amaya Hills. In the early morning we carryout you to bird watching trek in the area.
Thereafter we proceed to Peradeniya and visit the Botanical Gardens.
Peradeniya botanical garden was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It is 147 acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers.
Proceed to Nuwara Eliya, enroute visiting a Tea Plantation.
Visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Here you can observe all about the process of manufacturing tea. You can also see how tea is graded. You have the opportunity to taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory.
Visit to Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lankan tea which produces a significant share of the world’s best tea. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Piduruthalagala (8282 feet) is also located here. Nuwara Eliya has one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia.
Next we proceed up to Kandapola.

DAY 05
TREK AT HORTON PLAINS
Picnic breakfast from Tea Factory Hotel.
In the early morning we proceed to Horton Plains and carryout a trek app. 12 – 14 km.
We visit Horton plains, which is located on a high windswept saddle at about 2134 meters above the sea level. The plains are an expanse of misty grassland with scraggy trees and ice-cold rivulets. Visit the World’s End, considered as the finest view in all of Sri Lanka. The awesome escarpment drops vertically for about 4,000 feet, as it is named. You can also see the beautiful Backer’s falls. (Walk is about 14 km)
The park shelters mammals such as sambhur, leopard and endemic bear, monkeys and the lizards which are famous for its endemic nature. This area is a home for over 20 endemic bird species including Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush, Orange-billed Babbler and Yellow-eared Bulbul.
On completion we return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Tea Factory Hotel.
DAY 06
KANDAPOLA/NUWARA ELIYA/ WHITE WATER RAFTING IN KITULGALA /WEDDAGALA OFF RATNAPURA

We carryout white water rafting activity in Kitulgala.
This thrilling adventure on the white water section of the Kelani River is suitable for amateurs as well as professionals alike. During the run, you will experience the thrill of shooting rapids and euphoria of making it through. As the river widens, you will pass the scenic location used to film – “Bridge over the river Kwai” which was filmed in 1956, a good place to jump in for a refresh swim. On a clear day, you may even dive to see the remains of the actual bridge and the carriages used for the film (only for experienced divers with proper equipment).

DAY 07
SINHARAJA/SINHARAJA/RATNAPURA/MOUNT LAVINIA
In the morning we proceed to Sinharaja Rain Forest and carryout a trek in the Forest.
This is Sri Lanka’s only remaining primeval rain forest. A single foot path cuts through the heart of its 50 sq. miles. The vegetation is many layered as in the Amazon or Congo. Rare orchids blossom and cicadas chirp around the area. The only other sound is the sound of the rain : 200 inches rain fall annually through ot the year.
We return to the hotel in the mid afternoon. Thereafter we proceed to Mt Lavinia .

01 Day – Airport to Dikwalla

04 Day – Dikwalla to Galle afterwards Dikwalla
After the breakfast we proceed to visit Weligama fishing Village and Galle fort. In this coastal town, the Dutch presence is still visible. Galle was an ancient port (said to be the legendary Tar shish of the Bible), and our first international commerce and trade centre. Today, Galle is the bustling provincial capital and administrative centre of the south. It is famous for its lovely Unawatuna Bay, where the sea is reef protected and therefore it is safe for swimming. The old Dutch ‘Star’ fort (a World Heritages Site) covering 36 hectares, the well-preserved Groote Kerk (Dutch Church), Dutch Government House, the New Oriental Hotel (1684) old bell tower and a tide-based Sewage-System, also introduced by the Dutch. In Galle they still make the Dutch ‘pillow-lace’ and do fine ebony carving and gem polishing. Return to Hotel in Dikwalla. Dinner and overnight stay- at Hotel in Dikwalla.
05 Day – Dikwalla to Udawalawe or Yala afterwards Hambantota
After breakfast we go to Hambantota or Katharagama. En route visit Yala national park or Udawalawe national park. Yala is approximately 1,259 sq. km in extent and is located in the southeastern corner of the island. Its northern boundaries border the Lahugala Elephant Sanctuary and it has the added bonus of scenic ocean frontage. The terrain is a varied course of flat plains altering with rocky outcrops. The vegetation ranges from open parklands to dense jungle. Water holes, small lakes, lagoons and streams provide water for the animals and birds. The specialty here is the large numbers of elephants. Uda Walawe: The Uda Walawe National Park is approximately 30,821 hectares in extent. This park lies within the Ratnapura and Monaragala Districts and acts as the catchment’s to the Uda Walawe Reservoir, and is located in the dry zone. It comprises grasslands, thorn scrubs and many valuable species of trees. Dinner and overnight stay- at a hotel in Hambantota or Katharagama.

The dry season from June to September, is the best time to visit. By then, water in the tank has dried up, exposing grasses and shoots to grazing animals; elephants, which number up to 150, come to feed and bathe; and flocks of birds, such as little cormorants and painted storks, fish in the shallow waters.

DAMBULLA CAVES
The Dambulla Rock Temple had first been constructed during the reign of King Vattagamini Abhaya (103 BC and 89-77 BC ). The Sinhalese often call him as King Valagamba. During the South Indian invasion, the king had to abandon his Anuradhapura Kingdom. For 12 years, King Valagamba was hiding and he had frequented these caves for his safety. It is located at an elevation of 1118 feet from the sea level raising a massive rock from the surrounding plains of Dambulla of 600 feet high and over 2000 feet in length. It is home to the World’s most acclaimed Cave complex of magnificent Buddha Images and Rock.

DAY 03- DRIVE TO ANURADHAPURA- ANURADHAPURA CITY TOUR
Anuradhapura was the cradle of glorious Sinhalese Buddhist civilization. The pride of place in Anuradhapura was taken by the ancient stupas and ancient reservoirs. Towering stupas (dagobas) of stupendous domes, the marvels of ancient civil engineering, were built having taken into the account the effects of lightening on high rise constructions, among numerous other engineering factors. DAY 04- DRIVE TO TRINCOMALEE – KONNESWARAM TEMPLE
Koneswarm Kovil is on the top of the Swami rock, which can be considered as the highest place in Trincomalee. Once you reach the temple you have a beautiful view of the surrounding area and if you can make it in the morning you can watch and take photos of a beautiful sunrise. As in many Hindu kovils you have beautiful and colorful carved figures. There is a sacred Bo tree as well but reaching it is a bit difficult since it is near a steep rock slope. Just below you can see some of the most crystal blue water which you can find anywhere in Sri Lanka.

As the name suggests this place is famous for couples committing suicide. There is a monument built for a lady that has committed suicide here but the historical facts suggest that the mentioned lady has actually lived, married and had children. This is just beside the Koneswaram temple so you want miss it if you are visiting the Koneswaram Hindu kovil.

DAY 05 TRINCOMALEE
Trinco fort is an old fort built by the Portuguese. Currently it is used as an army base but you have the freedom to explore some parts inside the fort. You can still see the remains of some old building and guns and you can see various crested in some building as well. There are some administrative buildings inside the fort as well.

This is around 30 minutes ride from Trincomalee early you get there the better. There are seven wells built on top of hot water springs and the temperature varies from well to well .It can get pretty crowded during a public holiday. So if you visit there during a public holiday make sure to go there as early as possible .You need to pay a small fee to enter the place.
Kinniya new bridge is currently the longest bridge in Sri Lanka. This was built with the donation from Saudi Arabia and opened to public on 20th October 2009. Kinniya bridge is 10 meters wide and 495 meters in length.

Have you heard of the famous Trincomalee Harbour. The Trincomalee Harbour is a large natural harbour in Sri Lanka. Located in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka in the heart of the Indian Ocean, its strategic importance has shaped its recent history. There had been many sea battles to conquer the harbour. DAY 06 TRINCOMALEE
PIGEON ISLAND
A small island near Trincomalee which is a national park as well. The island got its name because of hundreds of pigeons that gather in the island. There is a coral reef there with many species. So it is a great place to go snorkeling or diving. There are two beaches in the island as well where you can have a relaxing time.
NILAWELI BEACH LEISURE
This is considered as one of the purest white sand beaches in Asia. Nilaveli beach is a great place for sea bath and to have a relaxing evening. If you can afford to stay at the Nilaveli beach hotel then you have easy access to the Nilaveli beach and even from the Trincomalee town it is about 15 minutes drive. There are no fresh water bathing facilities nearby, something you should consider before leaping to the sea.

Day 01 – Air port pick up – Pinnawela – Dambulla cave temple

Pinnawela and visit the Elephant Orphanage. The Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. And in 1984, the first baby of Pinnawela was born.
Dambulla Caves – a complex of caves with ancient frescoes painting and ancient huge Buddha statues climbing up the 500 ancients stairs along with pilgrims and other tourist coming to see this most beautiful site

Day 02 – Sigiriya – Village Tour
After breakfast in the hotel – driving to the most famous site in Sri Lanka Sigiriya rock – at the top of the rock you can see remains of one of the three ancient capital cities of Sri Lanka (that is why it is called the “cultural triangle”) – climbing 1200 stairs to reach the top – and together with a trail of hundreds of other travelers reaching the top – where a panoramic view of the jungle above the tree tops is being revealed. – we will live the site, after going dawn visiting also the ancient gardens in the bottom of the site ,
Village tour – Village life in the countryside of Sri Lanka can be a truly fascinating experience. The homes in each village tends to be inhabited by entire family generations.

Day 03 – Matale – Spice garden – Kandy – Temple of tooth – Cultural show
On the third day of the tour we will live the “cultural triangle” area and will continue through the center of the island dawn towards one’s of Sri Lanka most important cities- Kandy –
Before arriving to Kandy we will make a stop at the spice gardens – Sri Lanka is well known for its special spices like cinnamon cardamom and many others. In this special place you will
learn about all those special spices and there special uses- after that we will continue to Kandy – having a city tour around the lake at the bazaar – and at the most important site – the Temple of the Tooth – where the Buddhists believe one’s of Buddha teeth is being kept –that is why Kandy became such an important place – you will tour the place at the afternoon when the special ceremony is being held. And finely in the evening you will enjoy a special and a fun folklore show – of local dancing drum show and more.

Day 04 – Peradeniya Garden>Tea factory & Plantation >Nuwara Eliya City
In the morning you will enjoy the ancient wonderful Peradeniya botanical gardens with its special orchards greenhouse. After that we will continue to the tea area which is the Nuwara Eliya area- on the way you will stop at the Ramboda waterfalls and then continue to a visit in the tea plantation and at the tea factory in the evening you will visit N’eliya city – the main city of the area in which you can still feel the colonial atmosphere left from the time the British governed the island.

Day 05 – Drive to Yala>Ella Waterfalls>Yala Safari
Starting the morning with an early safari tour in Udawalawa national Park where you can meet the elephants, deer, leopards, huge lizards, crocodiles and more.

And finally we will reach the town of Hikkaduwa – where you will stay for the night

Day 07 – Turtle hatchery>Bentota Boat ride>Colombo city>Negambo
After breakfast you option to go for an interesting boat ride at Madu River. You will see a variety of animals, birds and about 62 islands where you will get the opportunity to visit a few. Some are specialized in cinnamon plantation and you can see how they get quality cinnamon out of the tree. Also you can see a rare type of black monkey, you will see the prawn traps and many more. Afternoon relax at the beach.
Colombo. on your way see one of the most dangerous professions in Sri Lanka – toddy tapping and perhaps you will see the big fishing net called “beach seine nets” or “ma del”, a spectacular sight to see. Check into the hotel Global towers/Clarion in Colombo. in the evening do a city tour and some shopping.
